Now Accepting Entries for the 2012 Jaques Student Art Competition Deadline for Submission March 30, 2012

Each year one High School student and one Middle School student receive a modest cash award to help pursue their interest in art. The artwork submitted to the competition by the students selected for the award becomes the property of Shelby County Schools and is framed for display in the Board of Education’s committee room.

Now Accepting Nominations for the Shelby County Schools Alumni Hall of Fame – Deadline for Submission March 9, 2012

Jointly with the Shelby County Board of Education, the Shelby County Schools Education Foundation honors distinguished graduates of the school system each year. Every year, an esteemed group of Shelby County School graduates are inducted into the SCS Alumni Hall of Fame.   Hall of Fame inductees are celebrated for significant contributions to society or their profession and outstanding and impactful career achievements.  Honorees will be inducted into the SCS Hall of Fame at the Shelby County Schools Education Foundation Annual Gala to be held in the Fall of 2012.

If you know of someone who is worthy of this great honor this year, please submit a nomination form by March 9, 2012. David A. Pickler Community Leader Scholarship

Application Deadline is January 31, 2012

Every year, an esteemed graduating senior of a Shelby County High School is awarded a grant of $1,000 honoring them for their outstanding leadership and concentration of community service and engagement during their high school career.

If you are a Graduating Senior interested in receiving this great honor this year, please submit an application by January 31, 2012.
