Targeted Educational Enhancement Grants


David A. Pickler Leadership Award:

Description:

An annual grant of $1,000 to an outstanding graduating Senior of High School within the governance of the Shelby County Board of Education.

Requirements:

  1. Graduating senior of a Shelby County Schools High School

  2. Must complete graduation requirements as a student in good standing

  3. Must have an academic ranking within the top 25% of graduating class, with a minimum GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale

  4. Must exhibit outstanding leadership and concentration of community service and engagement during high school career

Process:

Graduating senior students meeting above requirements will submit application and supporting documentation to support application by the deadline noted on the application.

The winner will receive a $1,000 grant, plaque or other appropriate recognition and name on a personal plaque at the Shelby County Board of Education.  The award will be presented at the Shelby County Board of Education meeting held during the spring of each year.

2009 - Lauren Peterson - Germantown High School
