Shelby County Schools Education Foundation Race for Education

November 4, 2012

Freeman Park - Bartlett, TN!

More Details and Registration Information will be available in August 2012

The Shelby County Schools Education Foundation Race for Education is now the second largest Memphis Race Track Club-sanctioned run each year in Western Tennessee.  As a family-oriented 5k "fun/run," it attracts both serious runners who are timed using electronic chips and persons of all ages who just want to run (or most frequently walk) the course and have a pleasant day's outing.

The Shelby County Schools Education Foundation Race For Education announces the 12th annual Race For Education. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to celebrate with the more than 3,000 persons who participate in the fun/run each year. Come join us on November 4, 2012 at Freeman Park in Bartlett, Tennessee. More details to come in August 2012

The Race for Education began in 2001 as the brainchild of several district parents who were alarmed by drastic cuts in funding for Shelby County Schools' programs in art, music and physical education. Thus, proceeds from the race are used to provide small grants for such programs in each of the district's schools. Since 2001 more than $400,000 has been raised by the race and returned to the schools.  Thanks to all for your generous support.

The foundation gratefully acknowledges our major sponsors for the 2011 Race:  Gold Ribbon America's Incredible Pizza, Cargill, City of Bartlett, Dobbs Ford-Lincoln-Mercury, FedEx, Shelby County Schools, Verizon, Williams-Sonoma;  Silver Ribbon Chick-fil-A Winchester, Kroger, Ultimate Attire & Solutions: Bronze Ribbon
